Filled with music and dancing, Egyptian director Youssef Chahine's Destiny explores the link between religion and violence in the Islamic culture of 12th century Spain. Set in the Arab-ruled Spanish province Andalusia, famed philosopher Averroes is appointed grand judge by the caliph and his liberal court judgements are not liked by everyone. This is a fine example of the latest work by Youssef Chahine.
