General Information:

All payments must be received with order. If ordered items are in stock, most orders are shipped within 2 business days of receipt. All orders will be processed as NTSC-VHS or NTSC-DVD (North American standard). For orders outside the US, you are responsible for any import duties, fees, taxes, etc. Shipping options are based upon when your order is shipped, not when the order is placed.

Credit Card Orders:

All credit card transactions are made via our encrypted secure server. Your card is not billed until your order is processed. Please supply credit card type, account number, cardholder name, and expiration date. Please Note: It is never a good idea to send credit card details in an email, credit card purchases are not accepted via direct e-mail for security reasons. You can instead fax the payment info to our fax number (206-322-4586). If you do not have a fax we can take your order over the phone between 9am and 5pm (Pacific Standard Time).

Institutional Orders:

Institutional DVDs on our website are sold only to institutions, schools, colleges, universities, and libraries. Institutional DVDs are sold with a non-paying public performance license. This license entitles the purchasing institution to exhibit the recording within its premises without charging any admission fees during the life of this tape or DVD. All other rights remain the sole property of the copyright holder. Most Institutional DVDs are also available with a Digital Site License (DSL), which allows colleges, universities, or libraries to encode, locally host, and stream the film to their community on a closed, password-protected system.

Rental Information:

International Orders:

Although AFD is primarily a U.S. distributor, we do ship videos internationally. All our DVDs will play on most home computers. Please read the international shipping FAQs below.

Q: Will DVDs from AFD/Typecast play in my PAL or SECAM DVD player?
A: Our DVDs are Region 1 or Region 0 NTSC video format (North America). They might play on newer multi-region DVD players but will not play on PAL or SECAM DVD players. Our DVDs will play on most computers (with a DVD drive and DVD player installed). Please refer to your user manual for the particular specifications of your DVD player. and cannot guarantee our DVDs will play on any PAL or SECAM DVD players. Please Note: We do not offer returns on DVDs if they will not play on your PAL/SECAM DVD player.

Q: How long will it take to get my order?
A: Although most orders are shipped within 48 hours of receipt, International orders need to have the shipping cost negotiated before we can process your order. We will email you to negotiate shipping once your order is submitted. Please allow up to 2-4 weeks for USPS International Mail Service, unless you are in Canada or Mexico. Delivery times are based upon when your order is shipped and not when the order is placed on our website. Please note our shipping policy: USPS International Mail Service does not include online order tracking. Once the package is shipped, we cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages. Federal Express International shipping comes with online tracking and guaranteed delivery but is more costly. The shipping cost must be negotiated and confirmed before your order will be processed/shipped.

Q: How to purchase films internationally from
A: After you add the films you want to buy to your shopping cart, continue to check out. we will email you. When you go to pick your shipping method on international orders it will say "To be negotiated shipping." Click Submit and finish placing your order. We will email you to negotiate the shipping cost and finalize your order. Once you confirm your shipping method we will begin to process your order. Please note your credit card is not billed until your order ships.

Return Policy:

Damaged DVDs can only be exchanged within 30 days of receipt and only for the same film. The damaged DVD must be returned before a replacement is mailed.
