This socially conscious, visually sophisticated film explores the inequities between the rich and the poor and man's exploitation of his fellow man. Afghan refugee Nassim needs to come up with some money for his wife's medical bills. A disreputable promoter slyly suggests that Nassim compete in a local bicycle marathon. Hope centers on Nassim's ability to ride his bike in small circles, 24 hours a day for an entire week. Gamblers, buskers and bookies use Nassim's suffering to their own advantage while food vendors hawk their wares to the growing crowd of onlookers.
