NYU cultural critic Professor Ella Shohat will go on tour this March!
Featuring perhaps the most important new film on Arab-Jewish cultural relations presented by one of the most respected commentators on the topic, this unique program is now available to colleges, universities, and film societies interested in booking March 2004 engagements.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Ella Shohat is Professor of Cultural Studies at New York University. She has published and lectured extensively on the history, culture, and identity of Arab Jews, on multiculturalism, post-colonialism and gender studies. Her writings have been translated into many languages, and include such groundbreaking and award-winning books as Israeli Cinema: East / West and the Politics of Representation (U. of Texas press, 1989), Unthinking Eurocentrism: Multiculturalism and the Media (co-authored with R. Stam, Routledge, 1994), and Talking Visions (MIT, 1999).

PROGRAM DETAILS
Suitable for instruction in cinema, media, and cultural studies, comparative literature, Arabic and Hebrew literatures, Middle East and Islamic studies, Israeli and Jewish studies, and post-colonial and Diasporic studies.
While the film can be booked for shows before and after March, Professor Shohat's availability is quite limited.

Forget Baghdad is in Arabic, Hebrew, and English with English subtitles and English narration. The film is 111 minutes long and is available for screenings in 35mm and on DVD.
